About Me

I'm Sushan D Jain, a recent BCA graduate from Vivekananda College of Arts Science and Commerce Puttur, with a deep passion for Software Development and problem-solving. I specialize in Java, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA), and I enjoy building efficient, scalable solutions that solve real-world challenges.

During my academic journey, I also explored Full Stack Web Development, gaining hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Node.js, and SQL. I've completed several impactful projects, including an AI-based answer evaluation system and a farmer-to-consumer market platform, which reflect both my technical skills and practical thinking.

I've participated in national-level hackathons and coding competitions, which helped me grow as a collaborative, creative, and detail-oriented developer. Now, I'm actively seeking opportunities in the software development industry where I can apply my skills, contribute to meaningful projects, and continue learning.

Descriptive Answer Evaluation System

Hackathon Project

Built during a national-level hackathon at Yenepoya University. Designed an AI-powered tool to evaluate handwritten student answer sheets using OCR to extract content from PDF scans and GPT-based evaluation to assess answers based on grammar, content quality, and relevance to the question. The system assigns marks question-wise, reducing manual workload for educators. Built the backend in Python and integrated AI logic for scoring.

Full-Stack Project

Developed a web-based marketplace platform allowing farmers to directly list their produce and buyers to purchase without middlemen. Implemented JWT-based authentication with role-based access (Admin/Farmer/Buyer). Features include product listings with images, dashboard, password reset via email, and a mobile-responsive UI. Used SQL for database, Node.js/Express for backend, and EJS + Bootstrap for UI.
